tree sealantAfter pruning the tree wound should be protected against insect attacks and disease. There are several recipes available:

 

  • The best tree sealant is said to be made from clay and cow dung. It should be prepared fresh. Diluted, it is also used to dip tree roots before plantation. Use equal amounts with rainwater until the right consistency.
  • The easiest tree sealant to apply is made from beeswax. Knead it until soft and apply.
  • If in a hurry, apply pure clay with some rainwater to make it malleable. It will have to be checked and replaced in case of rainy weather.
